Handball

GAA Handball is a fast paced, highly skilful, hugely entertaining, and fully inclusive sport. The fitness benefits of the game are vast. Speed, agility, endurance, flexibility, and bilateral coordination all come in to play in the sport that once you play for the first time, you wont ever want to stop. But what makes this game so great is that all you require to play is a ball and a wall…..it’s really that simple!
The primary aim of any Handball match is to make the ball hit the front wall and bounce twice before your opponent can return it.
Handball can be played in Singles (1v1) and Doubles (2v2).
GAA Handball is Ireland’s traditional wall-ball sport – a fast-paced game that combines power, precision, and strategy.
Vienna Gaels Handball brings this historic Irish sport to Austria, welcoming players of all levels to learn and compete in both singles and doubles formats.

What is GAA Handball?
GAA Handball (also called Irish Handball) is one of Ireland’s four official sports. Players use their hands to strike a small ball against a wall, similar to squash or racquetball but with unique Irish rules.
The game can be played in singles (one-on-one) or doubles (pairs), and on courts with either one wall (Wallball) or four walls (40×20 or 60×30 formats).
